On９ January, ELIS announced that its proprietary small hydropower system, WaterWeco®, has been granted an intellectual property patent registration in the US in Octobet 2023. The US patent in the system follows the registration of a trademark (name of the system) and design (two patterns of impellers) in June 2020. In June 2020, the system, which has been sold through domestic sales, was registered as a trademark and design with patent offices in Japan, the US, Europe, Taiwan, China and other countries. In July 2021, it was registered with the Sustainable Technology Promotion Platform (STePP) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) ITPO (Investment and Technology Promotion Office) Tokyo Office.
