Our group company, Tsubame Gas, has introduced EVs in its company vehicles. The EVs will first be installed at the head office and branch offices, which are equipped with solar power generation facilities. The EVs will be recharged using electricity generated during the day. Future plans include using the ELIS power plant, which opened at the campground in November 2018, for events such as environmental education for local children.

Here, the EVs will be powered by water discharged from the power plant and electricity generated by a small hydroelectric system installed by ELIS. This will be established as a 『Model of independent power generation for local production for local comsumption』utilizing small-scale hydroelectric power generation facilities, which are rare in Japan. This is a model project for power outages in the event of a disaster, and in addition to recharging EVs, it is also possible to recharge cell phones and other devices.(Some excerpts and additions and corrections have been made.)
