【Mega Solar Business】Small Hydropower ・ Japan
2025/03/28
"Mori to Mizu no Chikara" in Nara Prefecture, Japan, along with Co-Innovation University's Establishment Fund, Tokyu Land Corporation, and its subsidiary ReENE have announced a partnership to expand small hydropower projects in the Kanto and Tohoku regions. They also plan to promote educational initiatives and regional co-creation projects.
On February 18, the four parties signed an agreement to assess the potential for small hydropower development across various locations, with the goal of forming the largest small hydropower alliance in Japan, aiming for a total installed capacity of 30MW. Additionally, part of the project’s resources will support the CoIU Establishment Fund in founding "Co-Creation University," based in Hida City, Gifu Prefecture, which is set to open in April 2026. This initiative aims to foster local talent development and community building.
